Tata Memorial Centre, a grant-in-aid institute under Department of Atomic Energy is constructing residential quarters at Mullanpur village in Mohali district of Punjab. TMC is currently looking out for people to provide architectural consultancy for the project.
The project is estimated to cost Rs 52 crore. Entire project is expected to be complete in 36 months and the consultancy is required from pre-construction stage of appointment of contractor till completion of defect liability period. Selection of the consultant will not be necessarily on the basis of lowest quotation. Pre-bid meeting will be held at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai.
In Punjab, TMC in a combined effort with Punjab State Government has set up Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in the campus of District Civil Hospital Sangrur, Punjab. This hospital has been commissioned in January 2015.
The Tata Memorial Centre constitutes the national comprehensive cancer centre for the prevention, treatment and research on Cancer and is comparable to any similar center in the world. The TMC was initially commissioned by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust in 1941 and was later handed over to Ministry of Health in 1957. The government transefrred TMC to Department of Atomic Energy in 1962.
