Embassy Residence at Vienna to be renovated

Indian Embassy Residence at Spitzergasse 2, Vienna in Austria will be renovated for which the Embassy is looking out for Architectural consultant for providing professional service including architectural, engineering, interior design.

The property which is proposed to be renovated including the interior design is owned, managed and maintained by Embassy of India in Vienna. This property was acquired way back in 1960. The total plot area is 2.5 acre having total built up area of 780sqm. The existing building is a three storied structure with a basement and is about 93 years old and no major renovation has been undertaken for last so many years. According to the Embassy officials, urgent repairs are required both internally and externally.

Further, according to official of the Embassy, the existing building services are old and need major up-gradation. Due to lack of proper maintenance there is dampness in the basement which is hazardous to the occupants.

Now, the existing building will be renovated as Embassy residence having representational areas on the ground floor, all necessary services in the basement and the residential area on the above floor. The areas can be extended based on the local development norms permit to suit the requirements of the Embassy Residence. The relaying and remodelling of the garden area also envisaged.
