Dynamic Façade Lighting at India Gate -min
Close on the heels of dynamic façade lighting of Rashtrapati Bhavan, Ministry of Urban Development has done the Dynamic Facade Lighting of India Gate. Yesterday, Anil Baijal, Lt. Governor of Delhi inaugurated the Dynamic Facade Lighting of India Gate in the presence of Dr. Subhash Ramrao Bhamre, Minister of State for Defence and Shri Hardeep S. Puri, Minister of State(I/C) Housing & Urban Affairs and other officials of various departments. This work has been executed by Central Public Works Department.
A total of 130 RGB narrow / wide beam energy efficient LED fittings with computerized control, have been installed for Dynamic Facade Lighting due to which there is 75% energy saving as compared to earlier conventional light fittings. The life of this light fittings is about 1 lakh burning hours. This Dynamic Facade Lighting has 16 million colours combinations which will provide aesthetic appearance of India Gate during night time.
The India Gate is a war memorial located astride the Rajpath, on the eastern edge of the ‘ceremonial axis’ of New Delhi. India Gate is a memorial to 70,000 soldiers of the Indian Army who died in the period 1914–21 in the First World War, in France, Flanders, Mesopotamia, Persia, East Africa, Gallipoli and elsewhere in the Near and the Far East, and the Third Anglo-Afghan War. India Gate was designed by Edwin Lutyens, who was not only the main architect of New Delhi, but a leading designer of war memorials.
