CEPT University (Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology) is providing a 15 day specialized training program for Officers of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Kenya. Ongoing uptill 25 Feb, this workshop Innovations in Urban Planning and Housing is organized in collaboration with Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC), administered by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. It was inaugurated by Paresh Sharma, Chief Town Planner, Government of Gujarat; Vidyadhar Phatak, Dean, Faculty of Planning, CEPT; Hemendra Sharma, Director (DPA-II), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India; Robert Ogara Sangori, (as Head of the Kenyan delegation), Housing Planning Officer, State Department for Housing and Urban Development, Ministry of Housing, Kenya.
It may be noted here that CEPT University focuses mainly on understanding, designing, planning, constructing and managing human habitats. Its teaching programs aim to build thoughtful professionals and its research programs deepen understanding of human settlements. CEPT University also undertakes advisory projects to further the goal of making habitats more liveable.
